MEMBRANES FOR ARTEX VACUUM PRESSES
ARTEX is a Polish manufacturer of vacuum presses and related equipment with many years of experience, focused on technological solutions for veneering, laminating, and material forming. ARTEX equipment is used in furniture and woodworking production, as well as in the processing of composite and thermoformable materials.
In ARTEX vacuum presses, as in all vacuum presses, the membrane is the main working component that determines process stability and consistent results. Depending on the pressing technology, rubber or silicone membranes are used, each designed for specific operating conditions.
2.5 mm Rubber Membranes for ARTEX Presses
Rubber membranes are used in presses designed for cold and moderately heated pressing processes, typical for veneering and laminating furniture components. The elasticity of rubber allows the membrane to compensate for height differences and complex workpiece geometry without creating local pressure overloads.
These membranes are well suited for serial production cycles where wear resistance, repeatable results, and stable operation during daily use are essential. Natural rubber membranes with a thickness of 2.5 mm are optimally suited for the following ARTEX vacuum press models:
- VPS-300
- VPS Special
Silicone Membranes for ARTEX Vacuum Presses
ARTEX produces a wide range of vacuum presses used in processes with increased thermal loads, including thermoforming, sublimation, and processing of PVC films, plastics, and composite materials.
- TVG-300 / TVG Special — vacuum presses for heating and forming solid surfaces;
- VP-Sublimation — a vacuum press for sublimation (image transfer);
- VPF-2 — a vacuum press for PVC film pressing.
The use of these presses without a silicone membrane is not possible, as only silicone is capable of maintaining elasticity and its material properties at high operating temperatures.
The use of a silicone membrane expands the technological capabilities of ARTEX vacuum presses and makes it possible to work with more complex 2D and 3D components without compromising surface quality.
Practical Recommendation When Choosing a Membrane
When selecting a membrane for an ARTEX vacuum press, it is recommended to consider the operating temperature, product geometry, and equipment duty cycle. Choosing the correct membrane type helps reduce load on the press, improve process stability, and extend equipment service life.
