The combination of 40 Shore A hardness and elongation of up to 700% allows the membrane to conform to curved, shaped and profiled workpieces. Its tensile strength supports repeated use in regular production, provided that the membrane is installed, operated and maintained correctly.

Smooth and Textile-Impression Surfaces

Every NR-40 Red membrane has two different surface finishes. One side is smooth, while the opposite side has a textile impression. This configuration allows the membrane orientation to be selected according to the pressing process, workpiece and equipment requirements.

Before installation, determine which side should face the workpiece. The correct orientation can depend on the material being pressed and the required surface result. If you are uncertain, contact us before cutting or installing the membrane.

Applications for NR-40 Red

NR-40 Red membranes are intended primarily for furniture manufacturing and woodworking operations, including:

• vacuum veneering of flat, curved and profiled components;
• laminating MDF, particleboard and other wood-based panels;
• producing curved laminated parts;
• pressing furniture fronts, doors and interior components;
• use in vacuum bags and membrane press systems.

The membrane can be used in cold pressing and in heated processes involving heat-activated adhesives, provided that the operating temperature does not exceed 130 °C. For continuous operation at higher temperatures, select a suitable silicone membrane instead.

Widths, Thicknesses and Supply Options

NR-40 Red membranes are available in widths of 1700 and 2000 mm and in thicknesses ranging from 2 to 4 mm. Available width and thickness combinations vary by product, so check the specifications of the selected item before ordering.

Complete rolls have a standard length of 15 m. Selected membranes can also be ordered in custom-cut lengths starting from 1 m. This makes it possible to purchase either material for regular in-house cutting or an individual length for a specific vacuum press.
