NR-40 Grey Natural Rubber Membranes

NR-40 Grey is a highly elastic natural rubber membrane designed for vacuum pressing, veneering, laminating and woodworking applications. With a hardness of 40 Shore A and elongation of up to 700%, the membrane closely follows the contours of workpieces and distributes pressure evenly across the surface.

Features of NR-40 Grey Natural Rubber Membranes

The membrane can be used for both cold and heated pressing processes, including applications involving heat-activated adhesives. Its high elasticity makes it suitable for pressing shaped, curved and profiled components.

Recommended Applications

NR-40 Grey natural rubber membranes are suitable for:

veneering flat and shaped components;
laminating MDF, particleboard and other wood-based panels;
manufacturing curved laminated components;
pressing furniture fronts and interior elements;
general vacuum bag and membrane press applications.

For processes that operate continuously at very high temperatures, a silicone membrane may be a more suitable choice. Natural rubber provides excellent elasticity and mechanical strength, but its temperature resistance is lower than that of silicone.

Available Sizes and Supply Options

NR-40 Grey membranes are available in thicknesses of 2, 2.5, 3 and 4 mm and in widths of 1700 and 2000 mm, depending on the product. They can be supplied in custom-cut lengths, complete rolls or sheets cut to fit specific vacuum presses.
