NR-45 Grey/Red Multilayer Natural Rubber Membranes

NR-45 Grey/Red is a multilayer natural rubber membrane developed for professional vacuum and membrane presses. It consists of differently coloured grey and red layers, making its multilayer construction clearly visible. With a hardness of 45 Shore A, the membrane is firmer than NR-40 rubber membranes and is particularly suitable for PVC foil pressing and membrane presses operating with vacuum and additional overpressure.

The material is designed for furniture production, MDF front lamination and other woodworking processes that require a stable membrane, controlled pressure distribution and resistance to repeated pressing cycles.

The higher 45 Shore A hardness gives NR-45 Grey/Red a firmer structure than NR-40 membranes. This makes it suitable for applications where greater membrane stability is required during vacuum and overpressure pressing.

Multilayer Construction with Grey and Red Layers

NR-45 Grey/Red is manufactured from multiple layers of natural rubber in different colours. The grey and red layers form a single flexible membrane while remaining visually distinguishable.

The different layer colours make the multilayer construction easy to identify. They should not, however, be treated as a specified wear indicator unless this function is confirmed for the selected product.

Smooth and Textile-Impression Surfaces

The membrane has a smooth surface on one side and a textile-impression surface on the other. This surface configuration allows the membrane to be positioned according to the pressing process, workpiece and equipment requirements.

Designed for PVC Foil and Overpressure Presses

NR-45 Grey/Red membranes are particularly suitable for pressing PVC foil onto furniture fronts, doors and profiled MDF components. Their 45 Shore A hardness and multilayer construction make them a practical choice for membrane presses operating with vacuum and additional overpressure.

The membranes can be used in heated pressing processes at operating temperatures of up to 130 °C. This makes them suitable for forming PVC foil over shaped and CNC-machined surfaces when used in accordance with the press, foil and adhesive manufacturers’ requirements.

NR-45 Grey/Red multilayer membranes are suitable for:

• pressing PVC foil onto MDF furniture fronts;
• forming PVC foil over profiled and CNC-machined components;
• veneering and laminating furniture panels;
• manufacturing doors and interior components;
• use in vacuum membrane presses;
• use in membrane presses operating with vacuum and additional overpressure.

For applications requiring a softer and more flexible membrane, an NR-40 product may be more suitable. For continuous operation above 130 °C, select an appropriate silicone membrane.

Available Dimensions and Supply Options

NR-45 Grey/Red membranes are available in thicknesses of 2, 2.5, 3 and 4 mm and in widths of 1700 and 2000 mm. Available width and thickness combinations vary depending on the product.

Most products are supplied in complete rolls with a standard length of 15 m. Selected membranes can also be ordered in custom-cut lengths. Check the specifications and availability of the required size before ordering.
